there, that’s a bit calmer.

mods: well, obviously, the original pattern was for socks, so…. i cast on 100 sts, did 1×1 rib until i got annoyed with ribbing, increased until i had 120 sts, then started the colorwork pattern from fair isle socks. i’ve said it before, i’ll say it again. worsted weight yarn on size 4 needles, fair isle colorwork, 120 sts, makes a great hat. it fits practically everyone, is warm and squooshy. my selbu, both brohams (one & two), infinite aspect, and louisa all follow this model.

instead of my usual blocking (full on soaking block) i steamed this hat with my iron. and i think it worked out just as well. and it was faster.

FOR THE RECORD: mr. ginger-beard up there got to pick the name of his hat. and the name of this hat was inspired by this black friday shopping prank video. we’ve been quoting this lots recently. do you have a left handed washing glove? where would i find the child sized shark cages?
