FO: clean slate cowl <– ravelry project page
pattern: state street cowl
yarn: from a thrifted outdated gap sweater that i pulled apart.
needles: US size 11 & 13
mods: well, i knit this up on slightly smaller needles, as i don’t believe i own 15 circulars. and considering how massive this knit up on smaller needles, i think it’s a good thing! also, technically i did one row wrong, but good luck figuring out which one!
this is a pattern i’ve had a crush on for quite a while, and after my push to finish a couple of obligation knits at the end of 2012, i wanted to work on a purely selfish knit. but my queue of obligation knits is still a little long, so the large gauge and low yardage of this recommended it. clean slate is a bit of a misnomer, but calling it that made me feel a little better…

Oh my glob, I want a grey cowl in this patter. Gosh, I need to practice my knitting !
this pattern isn’t super hard… how far along in knitting are you? if you can knit, purl, and decrease, you should be fine to make this.
Love this cowl! I’m surprised it was thrifted & re-used yarn. It held up so well I never would have guessed.

Oh, I love your cowl! Hooray for recycling beautiful yarn! I’ve been wanting to try that a while, too. But I have yet to come across a suitable sweater in the thrift shop. Anyway, very lovely cowl – it looks so squishy! Love the hat, too (ps the link to the project page is not working properly). The grey coat ties it all together – beautiful ensemble!
oh, if i’d known that, i’d have snuck a thrifted sweater into your package! the men’s sweater section at the thrift store is my favorite place to look… bigger sweaters=more yarn!
