ok, it’s decided. i’m going to do it! i accept the 30 for 30 challenge. and i figure, if i’m gonna do, i may as well do it up right. which means… follow the steps.

step 1: purge

let the purge begin!

good-bye! bye, all you pieces that weren’t quite me, but i got seduced by your price tag! good-bye clothes that never quite fit me right! good-bye especially to all you who i just never figured out how to wear, but you’ve been around like three years now, and i really think if it hasn’t happened yet, it ain’t gonna. i’ll probably think of you every now and again…

i added another step, though. because where kendi comes at things from a fashion perspective, i’ve got a crafty perspective. so i made another pile. my ‘needs a tweak’ pile:

these need some tweaks...

items i have really liked or still do, but they need just a smidgen of changing to be a truly productive part of my closet. a pair of dress pants that are a little too long, a pair of jeans whose waistband needs to be taken in (tutorial here), a sweater or two that shrank a little, but i should at least give them a blocking to see if they’ll look better again. and a black dye bath for one or two items. oh, and that cabled sweater on the right? had leather covered buttons, which i took off so that i could wash it. a year ago. and i never sewed the buttons back on. sheesh…

for all i know, i may tweak these and still never wear them. but i think that would be a disservice to them. i wanna give them a shot.
